Vision for ECS

My Vision for Elkin City Schools:

Our mission as a school system must be to provide our children with a solid education that prepares them for the future.

As a Constitutional Conservative, I believe our Core curriculum must include languages & grammar, maths & economics, science & technology, world & national history, civics & political science, arts, life & trade skills.

Divisive identity politics have NO place in Elkin City Schools.

Support ECS Parents

We must provide parents the opportunity to be actively involved in their children's education.

  • Board of Education meetings must be held at a time where parents are able to attend.
  • As a Board member, I will make myself available to parents to voice their concerns and work to find solutions to the issues presented.
  • We must be transparent and open about the curriculum and what is being taught at Elkin City Schools.
  • Parents must have the opportunity to have a voice in the selection of the curriculum for their children.

Support ECS Teachers

The Elkin City Schools Board of Education must support our teachers in their efforts to teach our children.

  • Teachers must be provided with the resources needed to be successful teaching their students.
  • We must support teachers with high classroom standards and the ability to administer corrective action as needed.
  • Teachers must be supported in their efforts to teach to individual student learning styles.

Improve Morale

Elkin City Schools must be a place where students, teachers, and staff enjoy coming each day.

  • Political indoctrination has no place in Elkin City Schools.
  • I will oppose divisive, disruptive, and controversial social justice, equity, "woke" political agenda.
  • Teachers, students, and staff must be able to respectfully speak freely and openly without fear of consequences or retribution.

Funding Allocation

We must be good stewards of the taxpayer dollars that fund our schools.

  • Funding must be directed to the classroom to enrich our children's learning experience.
  • Taxpayers are not interested in sending school administrators to Europe to experience foreign education systems.

The Elkin City Schools Board of Education needs to refocus on the fundamentals of a solid well-rounded education for our children, instead of divisive identity and social politics.
