About Me

Earl M. Blackburn

I was born and raised in Surry County and graduated from Elkin High School in 1971. Mrs. Atwell, my Algebra teacher, would later tell people that I was the biggest hell-raiser that ever hit Elkin High School.

At 18 years of age, Christ transformed my life and led me into a lifetime of pastoral ministry. Christ taught me the value of life, education, and teaching. Mrs. Atwell was proud to meet the new Earl and was wonderfully encouraging in every way.

My wife, Debby, and I met in college – I chased her until she caught me! We have been married 45 years and have an adult son, Caleb. Debby is a former educator and shares my passion for quality education.

Our 45 years of ministry has taken us to Utah, California, and Louisiana. I traveled extensively during that time, sharing the Gospel with other congregations and pastors around the world. Additionally, I have published a number of theological books targeted to the general public, as well as other pastors.

After retiring, my family returned to Elkin and I founded an international publishing company.

The past several years I have recognized the need to have strong moral leaders on our School Board – leaders who are willing to stand against political and social indoctrination of our children and insist on providing a solid education that serves our children well. An education that provides a strong foundation as they grow into adulthood and become productive members of society.

I humbly ask for your prayerful consideration as you head to the voting booth Tuesday, November 8.
